Leap of Faith!

Well I am happy to report that I am one of thirty people piloting the MacBooks for 6 months. We turned in our Dell laptops today so there's no turning back. I got one of the 10 MacBook Air laptops and am test driving it tonight by loading up iPhoto with pics, posting on my blog, checking email and moving my documents over to this lovely machine. Not to worry, I double backed up everything just in case...So we're in the honeymoon phase right now, let's see if I can make it last a lifetime or at least until they make me return it on April 18, 2013. I'm off to the races!!!

1st International Skype Experience with MHS Students

What a great day! We had 140 MHS students communicating with our Argentinean ePals in Idiazabal, Cordoba! Although not everyone was able to speak on camera, it certainly wet our appetite for more! Check out these pics!

'Life Goes On in Argentina' with Stupeflix Studio!

Had to share all of the photos we've received from our friends in Idiazabal, Cordoba in a quick easy way that wouldn't take up too much class time so bring on Stupeflix Studio! It was easy top upload pictures and music, choose a theme, and then let Stupeflix Studio do it's magic!

In trying to determine which version of the video is better in the blog, I learned that inserting the the HD version or the regular version is not the way to go.  Both play a blurry version of the video. Using the embed code got the best results.

ePals Excitement in the Air!

So it seems like the students are as excited as we are about connecting with our friends in Idiazabal, Cordoba!  It's been a real learning experience as we were able to trouble shoot around the technology issues. Not only did students write some great questions in their emails, many also shared group pictures too! Here are a few pictures of 7th period as they are writing emails on the iPads and netbooks.

"Why I Kiva" in World History

Mrs. McCall invited me to talk with her classes on Friday about Kiva and the possibilities of investing in small businesses through micro loans. Nothing says it better than this video! I think this will be my opener for her classes.
